“But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here,he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation.  He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtainingeternal redemption. The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.” Hebrews 9:11-15

“The priesthood that is Christ’s is certainly a better priesthood that is made perfect by the sacrifice of Christ offering both His blood and offering Himself. How much better is His priesthood. He brings into His priesthood all the attributes that describe Him as being God. His priesthood has omnipotence which guarantees the power necessary to perform the doing of that priesthood. There is no offering or need that will challenge His ability or His power. No one should think that his sin is too great for Him. One need not question or discuss whether His power is adequate to minister to the needs of the wicked sinner. Saying this reminds me of the Rolls-Royce salesman being questioned by a potential buyer. The salesman was asked, “How much horsepower does the Rolls-Royce have?” to which the salesman replied, “It is adequate.” Such is so in regards to our High Priest. He can adequately take care of the needs of each and every sinner.” (Hebrews: Looking Unto Jesus, by W. Max Alderman)

No one should think that their sin is too great for Christ. We all have done something that we think is unforgivable. The bible tells us that the only sin that is unforgivable is blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Every other sin, no matter how small or great we think it might be, every other sin is open for forgiveness. We simply need to approach G-d and ask, with a humble and contrite heart.

Are you afraid to ask for forgiveness? Are you concerned that your sins are too great? Nothing is too egregious for Christ – if we are sorry, and truly repent, and humbly believe that Christ forgives – then we have already received the forgiveness of sins. This is what radical grace is all about – the Grace we receive in Jesus.
