“Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night. They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.” Psalm 1
“Then when he arrived and witnessed the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the Lord” Acts 11:23
“Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night.” Prayer and meditation are so important in maintaining a healthy relationship with G-d. We need to take time not only to pray, but also to listen, really listen to the voice of G-d. Happiness, true happiness can be elusive in this world, if we only base our happiness on earthly things: stuff, money, status or popularity. Happiness in the Lord is found when we spend time talking to G-d – listening to G-d’s plans and direction. This is again why prayer time is so important in our lives. When we can sit and talk to G-d, we then will also be able to sit and listen to G-d.
Carve out those times in your day to meditate and pray….day and night if possible, in your car, at the hairdresser, while getting the oil changed in your car. Any time spent in prayer is time well spent.
