There is No — Now! — Rev. David J. Schreffler

Where is the Moment
We like to call Now?
Here it is…ooops, Here it is…oops
N…O…W… — WOW!

By the time we admit
That we have reached it somehow;
It has already passed
No more is it Now!

The Brain wants time
Fixed to a certain place;
But still it’s behind
In the Time Capturing Race!

Yesterday has teeth
I can chew on its pieces;
I can raise it — praise it
Re-fold its creases.

Tomorrow is a place
Of comfort or dread;
I’ll see it when it comes
Or, I might just be dead.

Now I have courage
But no, it has passed;
Why must the now
Pass by so fast?

When someone beckons You
“Come Here — Come Here Now”;
Have no fear — It’s slipped by
Like a carnival-greased sow.

Time is elusive
Be it Man-made or G*d-sent;
Better to enjoy, “Now”
Every G*d-given Moment.
